I am planing to be in Belize in Feb.
How about some camping sites people liked???
We are also planing on some sea Kayak camping.
But heard that you can't camp on a lot of the marine reserve Island.
Have any thoughts?
We are looking for culture, out doors and to meet locals.
Not so much into the city thing nor hanging out with a whole bunch
of toristas (americans). I can stay home to meet them all.

Re: Camping in Belize
Wed, November 9, 2005 - 7:14 PMI'd be interested in camping information, advice, and experiences as well. Though I want to spend some time in cities, I do want to camp and backpack for much of my trip.
thanks! -

Re: Camping in Belize
Tue, May 23, 2006 - 7:53 PMYou can camp right on the beach in Placencia. If you take The Side Walk from the peirs there is a little art store (it used to be called Art & Soul, but it just recently was changed to something i can't remember) on the right hand side and the lady there charges $10 BZE a night per tent! It's a really sweet deal in a really nice spot. They have a washroom and shower you can use as well as a cooking area, they will also lock up your bag for you! :)

Sat, June 3, 2006 - 11:52 AMYou can also camp on Caye Caulker at Tina's Hostel. You have to pay but it's next to nothing and you get to meet other fellow backpackers.
