shipping a vehicle to belize - help

I am moving to Belize in the next month and need to ship a car down there - anyone have any experience on this ? Any suggestions or tips would be most appreciated. thanks

    Sterling is who I use, and there are some others that will put a car in a box, and ship it down on a barge. It's not too expensive, but the duty once you get it here is quite large. I'd recommend not shipping it down, and just buying a cheap car here. Or driving it down, so you don't have to pay the duty(at first). Good luck,

      Duties are quite painful. So is the trip thru Mexico. I bought a truck in BZ before arriving... Belize Diesel... Toyota Hi-Lux. Best Idea I never had, but it was a saving my mind grace. Ah the infrastructure... it adds only to the persistent allure and charm. Can't wait to be back ma' self! W00T!

      First thing outta the box aside from sleeping off the trip and reactivating my phone? Muck boots. Thena trip to Pop's for a brakfast Burrito and some serious Fry jacks followed by another trip to Greedy's. Yep- Gimme that pizza, thanks!

      I surely to Gawd hope it's hot down there. It's been a chilly Summer in N. NE. Acckkk!

        looks like i am driving my partners jeep down before the end of the month, then return to the left coast and bring my old truck down, anyone who's done the drive any suggestions?

          I'll see if I can out you in touch with some folks I know in San Ignacio; they may or may not be helpful as they drove from Canada last year. Anyone else know of anyone who has recent and maybe more geographic proximity?
